I
was born and raised in Brittany, France. After a classic education,
I studied painting, environmental design and fresco in Paris.
After graduation, I fell in love with Glass and became an apprentice
in a stained glass studio. I learned the restoration of church
windows and used my designer's skills to create new stained
glass.
In
1994, portfolio in one hand, curiosity in the other,
I started a journey from New York to Montreal, from Mexico to
California. In Oakland, I attended a glass conference at wich
I met so many great artists that I decided to stay.
Since 1997, I have been living in the bay area
and I have worked on the restoration of San Francisco Court
of Appeal, City
hall and Grace
Cathedral's stained glass. I have also designed new projects
for the Getty family and Tommy Hillfiger. En
2001, I have been assisting Narcissus
Quagliata in the making of "The Gift", the last
window created for Grace Cathedral.
Also in my agenda is the artistic direction of the "Mac
Donald peace Windows" wich involves the making
of 28 pieces from shards of glass collected by Reverand Fred
Mac Donald during World War II. After a travelling exhibition
those pieces of art are gonna be displayed at the Interfaith
center of the Presidio in San Francisco (2003).
In my own studio, I create collections of unique pieces (bowls,
plates, sub-glasses, muds, etc.) by using the painting, the
fusing and the slumping of the glass.
